Katie + Clint | Eberly Farms Wedding | Wichita Kansas Wedding Photographer

Katie and Clint’s wedding took place on August 26th, 2017 at Eberly Farms in Wichita Kansas. I didn’t know Katie personally before we met, but she knew of my younger sisters, as they all went to high school together. Clint works on the fire department with my husband, so I was sure that’s how they heard about me. Katie mentioned she had been following my work for years! That just made my day! I love having fans of my work, knowing they want to hire me because they love the images that I share from past weddings, and they want the same stellar experience. 🙂 This gets me excited! I was so happy to get to know this amazing couple. They not only share a passion for each other, but value the men and women who serve and risk their lives on the fire department. They made it a huge part of their day to showcase their love for each other and the fire department. Katie’s father and brother are also firemen, she’s got a lot great guys in her life to look up to.

How did these two meet? Funny story, Katie was supposed to go and meet up with a guy for some drinks, but waited for an opportunity where it wouldn’t be so awkward. One Friday afternoon, he told her he was at a restaurant/bar with a friend, so she took the opportunity and ran! She went and met him and his “friend” and ended up staying with them until the early morning. Turns out, the friend he was with was Clint! Clint and Katie hit it off (more so than the other guy), and the rest is history!

Clint knew when it came time to propose, Katie didn’t want anyone else there, because she wanted it to be an intimate moment between the two of them. A few nights prior, they all had dinner at her parent’s house, and they toasted to her parents getting engaged 29 years prior on Valentine’s Day. A few days later when Valentine’s Day rolled around, Clint got down on one knee and asked Katie to be his wife. It was such a special day for their family.

We were so lucky to have a beautiful spring day for their engagement session. We started out at Station 10, hit up Union Station, then ended at Oak Park. You can check out their engagement session here! Their wedding day was even more perfect!

It was a gorgeous day and not too hot for August. When I arrived at Eberly Farms, Katie looked radiant. She was excited to see Clint, so we got her into her dress and ready for their first look. I took them out to an open area with tons of trees and beautiful light. We captured the intimate moment between the two, then started their formals in the same area. The bridal party soon followed and then family. It was so special to see how the two interacted through the day, holding each other, giving special attention to the kids, and getting excited to be married!

The ceremony was stunning and intimate, with their closest family and friends witnessing the vows and the special moments between the two. They had a gorgeous setting under the arbor. All their guests wrote their names on stones, and placed them in a special vase for keep sake. It was beautiful! After the ceremony, I met with couple out front for some fun pictures with station 21’s fire truck, then it was time for the couple to make their grand entrance.

The party started when Katie and Clint made their way to the reception. They cut their cake, toasts were made, and we strolled out into the sunset for some more amazing images with the two. They had their first dance together as husband and wife, and then the party didn’t stop till the night was over.

Kate and Clint,

Thanks again so much for trusting in me to document this special time in your lives. It was truly a blessing to get to know you two and witness the love that you share together. I hope that these images will always be reminder of that love and how much it means to you both. Blessings and cheers to many more years!!!

Warmly,

Amber Sublett
