Katie and Jeff | Rose Hill Wedding On Their Property | Wichita Kansas Wedding Photographer

Katie and Jeff’s wedding in Rose Hill Kansas was one I was super excited for. After meeting with Katie and hearing what she was planning, I was in love with all her ideas. Their country wedding was going to be at the top of my list for wedding of the year… and it most definitely is! Katie being a city girl and Jeff a country guy, it was so awesome to see their too worlds come together.

The wedding took place on Oct. 7th 2017 on their farm in Rose Hill. It was a hot sunny day for the start of fall, and we were delighted for the sunshine, as this was going to be an outside event. We started out the day with Katie and the girls at the house, while they were doing hair and makeup, and doing all the finishing touches before the ceremony. Katie had her bedroom all set up with Mr. and Mrs. pillow cases, and we couldn’t resist but to get some shots on the bed. After all the girls were ready, we headed over to St. Mary’s in Derby, where the ceremony took place.

The ceremony was gorgeous! The service was short and sweet, and we finished up with family pictures in the sanctuary before heading back to the house. When we got back to their property in Rose Hill, we did some pictures of the bridal party with Katie and Jeff before making an entrance into the barn. Their land was just beautiful, and the spots we picked were just a reflection of the couples personalities. My absolute favorite was the large tree that sat along in the field. It was huge, and a perfect backdrop for the couple.

When we finished up with pictures, it was time to head into the barn for their first dance. All their guests were waiting patiently with their cocktails in personalized mason jars. Katie and Jeff did their choreographed dance, which was splendid, and then their parents joined in for father and bride and mother and groom dances. This was one of the most relaxed receptions I’ve ever been to. Everyone mingled, ate their bbq, played outdoor games, and then the couple cut their cake. There is something so elegant about naked cakes… I love them!!! And their’s was to die for!

When Jeff and Katie got engaged, Jeff started a vineyard on their land for Katie as a surprise. When it started to get dark during their reception, we took Katie and Jeff out there for pictures. I wanted to get their sign in the shot as the sun was going down. We ended up making it there closer to dusk, but it ended up being perfect for the shot. We managed to get some silhouette shots as well! And right before we left for the evening, we got a sparkler exit with the couple, which was the perfect ending to the day.

Katie and Jeff,

Thank you so much for trusting us with your precious memories. We had a blast getting to know you both and your families. It was an absolute gorgeous day, and everything turned out perfect. We hope you both will enjoy your images for many more years to come. Many blessings to your both on this new journey together.

Warmly
