Kirsten + Abel | Hudson Wedding | Wichita Kansas Wedding Photographer

Kirsten and Abel got married on November 24th of 2018. The ceremony took place at University Congregational in east Wichita, one of my absolute favorite churches to photograph. She did a first look with her father, which brought us all to tears. Then, the couple had so many surprises for each other, gifts, and Kirsten’s wedding ring that she saw for the first time during their first look. It was such a fun and beautiful moment. Abels reaction when he saw her, was so sweet, and one we will always remember.

The temps were somewhere in the 70s, and it felt amazing to be outdoors. It was definitely not expected for late November. Getting most of the formals outside the church, we decided to do something we have never done before – Night shots! After the ceremony, we lost most of our light as the sun was setting. While we headed to the reception site, the Hudson in downtown Wichita, we took a detour and stopped at a parking garage for the perfect night scene. I was so happy with how these turned out, and they were so unique and fun!

As soon as we made it to the Hudson, everyone was ready to party! The couple made their entrance, cut their cake, and toasts were made. Kirsten’s father and bother had the most heart warming words to say, and you could tell how loved and admired the couple is. Kirsten’s maid of honor had me rolling during her toast. If she’s not a professional stand up comedian, she should be. 🙂 I had to keep myself composed from outbursts of laughter. She was so good. The couple shared a special dance, that turned into a surprise dance, which was really fun. Then Kirsten danced with her dad, and that was oh so very special. Especially when she is daddy’s little girl.
