Tabetha + Cameron | Botanica Wedding | Wichita Kansas Wedding Photographer

Tabetha and Cameron’s wedding took place in the beautiful Botanical Gardens located in Wichita Kansas. This is one of my favorite places in the summer. I photograph multiple weddings a year here and it never gets old.

Tabetha and Cameron met through mutual friends from their church and high school. They first met at their church, but actually started talking to one another and became friends during a musical they were both involved in during high school. Tabetha’s favorite story to tell everyone (over and over again) from early in their relationship is how she asked Cameron to prom shortly after they met. He told her no because he didn’t like dances. She still holds it against him.

When Cameron proposed, he decided to do it on a trip they took together to Colorado Springs. He had a photographer hide in a bush to capture the moment. They were on a trail overlooking the mountains, and he got down on one knee and proposed. He was originally planning to propose in Chicago, a couple months after the Colorado trip, but his family wanted to go on a trip to Colorado too and he already had the ring. He was excited to do it then.

I didn’t get a chance to work with them before the wedding day, but we all instantly got along. Both Tabetha and Cameron are genuinely two wonderful people with big hearts for their family and friends. It is so sweet that they found each other so early on in high school. I love a high school sweetheart story!

The day started out with a trip to the Drury Hotel downtown. It was the last day of the river fest that windy morning, and you could see the crowded street from the hotel window on the ninth floor. Tabetha was just about to have her makeup applied and we were capturing all the little details from her shoes to her dress in the window. I made my way downstairs to the lobby were Cameron and his groomsmen were waiting for pictures. They hung out in the bar for a bit while the girls finished getting ready, then we did a first look with the two when Tabetha came down. It was stunning! We did a few more pictures in the lobby as it was way too windy by the river. We then made our way to Botanica for the remaining formal pictures before the ceremony. The ceremony took place in the meadow in front of the fountain. It was stunning to say the least. A cross was made that stood above their unity tree they watered during the ceremony.  Tabetha also had a surprise message for her father hidden on the back of his tie. She showed it to him right before they walked down the isle (I loved you first) is what it said. The reception started immediately after with mexican food and a solo guitarist. They cut their cake and had their first dance together, then we took them out for a few sunset pictures right before we headed out.

Tabby and Cam,

Thank you so much for choosing us to capture your most special day. It has been wonderful getting to know the two of you throughout this process, and I hope we get the chance to work together again in the future. I hope this new adventure together get better each and every day. Cheers to many more decades of love and happiness! Many blessings to you both!

Warmly,

Amber Sublett
