I first met with Justin and Hayley at their consultation to get their date set. Justin told me I was at the top of his list to hire, and I was so honored to hear that, considering he has been a wedding photographer for many years himself. Hayley and I looked at each other with that “I’ve seen you somewhere before look”, and then it clicked. Hayley and I were both in the same girl scout troop long long ago. I believe we were called Brownies since we were only like 1st, 2nd grade at the time. It’s crazy how life can circle back around. These two were such a joy to work with. I wish Hayley and I stayed connected throughout our lives… I believe we would’ve been fast friends.
This gorgeous outdoor ceremony took place on April 22nd, 2018 at College Hill Park. It was a cold 45 degrees that spring day, but everyone powered through it. When Hayley showed up in her dress, I was happily surprised! I was expecting a big white gown, and instead she came out in this gorgeous unique short dress with color. I loved it so much! Justin and Hayley did their first look with each other and then all their formals before the ceremony. It was a simplistic formal affair, and these two down-to-earth love birds invited the people closest to their hearts.
The ceremony was short and sweet. Considering the cold weather, it was good to keep things moving. They decided to have their dinner reception at their most favorite Mexican joint, the District Taqueria in Old Town. I loved the vibe of this place, and it was so chill for all the guests to mingle and splurge on chips and queso. Hayley had the place decorated to her style, and everything came together to make this wedding so unique and fun, matching their personalities.
Justin and Hayley,
Thank you so much for trusting in me to document such a special day in your lives. It was such a pleasure working for you both, and getting to know you both in the process. I know your marriage will be blessed and I pray that you both will continue to keep God in the center. Cheers to many more years of love and bliss!
Warmly,
Amber Sublett
