Madi + Luke | Church of the Magdalen Wedding | Wichita Kansas Wedding Photographer

Madi and Luke’s wedding took place on September 28th, 2018 @ the Church of the Magdalen in Wichita Kansas. As normal for this state, when the temps are beautiful, it is usually accompanied by some wind. As we started the day capturing getting ready photos, the girls in college hill and the boys downtown, we all ended up meeting for the first look near the Courtyard Marriott in old town. We found an amazing spot for this (who knew) in the alley. I loved how these turned out! The wind caught her veil, shooting it vertically in the air right before they met… It was beautiful! Wind can be annoying, but sometimes it can give us such beautiful real images.

After we ventured downtown with the bridal party, we headed over to Church of the Magdalen to finish formals and prepare for the ceremony. It was stunning! Luke could barely hold it together seeing his gorgeous bride walk down the isle. I love capturing the raw emotion during a wedding… it’s what tells the true story behind the day.

After the ceremony, we headed back downtown. Their reception took place at Distillery 244, one of my fav venues. We decided since it was nearly dusk by the time we arrived, to capture some roof top photos across the street. I will always love doing these, as it never grows old to capture a gorgeous skyline and city scape.

The party soon started, and since my associate and I were there till the very end, we got to capture all the fun. This group partied the entire night! It was a blast, and they kept us busy snapping photos the entire night, until the couple made their exit with flying newspaper clippings. If you are KU fans, then you know the tradition. 🙂
